26 September - 1 October 2010 St. Nicolas Bay Resort, Crete, Greece |
Motivation
"If you are not prepared for the unexpected you will never discover it" - Heraclitus
The scope of this 4.5 day conference is to bring together a number of experts (less than 70) on infrared extragalactic astrophysics to discuss the outstanding questions in the field as well as how recent experiments using future facilities may address them. Emphasis will be given on how one can apply the knowledge derived from studies of the local universe to understand the properties of galaxies at higher redshifts.
The conference will consist of ~30 invited talks each ~40min in length with 5 additional minutes for discussion.
There will be a limited number of contributed talks but we will arrange for ample opportunities for discussions along with a dedicated poster session.
Funding for the conference is provided by the European Union 7th Framework Programme (EU FP7-REGPOT grant 206469) and the Foundation for Research and Technology - Helas.
