The XMM-Newton monitoring of the neutron star EXO 0748-676 back to quiescence The dipping and eclipsing neutron star low-mass X-ray binary EXO 0748-676 started the transition to quiescence in October 2008 after more than 20 years of continuous accretion. We monitored the cooling of the neutron star crust with periodic observations of XMM-Newton since accretion ceased. I will present the cooling curve of the neutron star based on the observations spanning nearly 2 years and discuss the results of the XMM-Newton observations in the context of cooling neutron star models. I will also present the constraints to the mass and radius of the neutron star derived from simultaneous fitting of all the XMM-Newton observations after residual accretion ceased.
