What is AstroStat-II

AstroStat is a collaboration aimed at the development of Novel Statistical Tools for the Analysis of Astronomical Data.

Goals

The goal of this program is to bring together researchers from EU-based and non-EU institutes in order to develop novel statistical methods for the analysis of Astronomical data.

The program includes the following thematic areas:

    - Classification (classification of compact objects, solar regions, supernovae)
    - Imaging analysis (galaxy morphology, source characterization, decomposition of confused sources)
    - Fitting complex data and population studies (multi-dimensional fits, model uncertainties in fitting, estimation of cosmological parameters)
    - Timing analysis (variability in multi-dimensional data, detection of transient sources)
